Results from the Management Success! Seminar
We thought buying this shop would be a good business opportunity, so we mortgaged our house to buy it. For the first 1.5 years David worked another job and I ran the shop with 1 tech. We lived week to week. We were the type of shop owners that you describe in your flyers - the shop owners who pay all the bills but never have anything left over. Nothing was consistent. We'd have a good month and then a bad month. There were terrible ups and downs.
The week before we went to the seminar, I fired one of our techs and the other resigned. So we didn't have any techs. We went to the seminar and learned so much from it. The seminar gave us the information we needed to hire the right techs, which we did when we arrived home.
The future is looking good. I now know that my husband and I won't end up as department store greeters when we are 60 because we can't afford to retire. We are now able to afford a college education for our kids. We will be able to help them, so they won't be paying off college loans for the next 10 years.
The coolest thing is that David has a regular pay check, no more bare bones skinny paychecks. We can eat out when we want, or get what ever else he wants.
The high stress levels have almost been eliminated. The quality of our employees has just been really good. They are stable and dependable and knowledgeable. If we can make a profit at 85% mobile, anybody can do it!
